Welcome back, friends, fans and readers. I hope everyone is staying cool during these hot days. Just some quick updates tonight.
First off, the new version of the book is finalized in Amazon and it looks really good. First shipment of paperbacks are being shipped to me this week and will go out to my Breachers very soon after, personally signed. I thank everyone for your support.
Secondly, work on the sequel is underway and some major writing has already been done. I am still hoping for an end of year release date but I will keep you posted on that. I have two very talented artists interested in doing some pieces for the book cover and some promotional items. More to come on that. I’m very excited to see what they come up with.
Third, mentoring is going well. The sessions are enjoyable and informative. I have taken pages of notes during each call and have been given lots of resources for cover designers, paperback printers, and tools to help plot, plan and outline. The great thing about this is that even though I could have eventually stumbled across many of these things on my own, Travis is sending me resources that he personally has found useful.
The legwork is done, the research has been done and I can begin using these tools now rather than wasting time and/or money on the wrong websites or tools. It’s been almost like having a back stage pass to the rock concert, the magic wardrobe to Narnia. I only need to follow the yellow brick road.
Fourth update of the night, I am beginning a course called “The Artist’s Way“ tonight. It is a “course in discovering and recovering your creative self”. Essentially, a 12 week course that teaches how to get back to your creativity, to give yourself the permission to take time out from other duties to work on your creative gifts, whatever those may be. I’m excited to see how it goes and see how I can apply its lessons to myself and my own creative journey. I’ll keep everyone posted on that progress each week and maybe some of you will get inspired enough to give it a try. You can purchase the book and workbook as a set on Amazon and the author is Julia Cameron.
I really hope everyone has taken the time to explore the new features on the website and have had a chance to read the ”Spotlight“ article on my mentor, Travis Heermann. If you haven’t, I encourage you to check it out and to explore his page for some great new reads to add to your collection.
Hard to believe it’s July already, harder still to believe that my dad has been gone almost six months, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of something that I need to tell him or ask him. I know he’s out there in the ether, watching from afar. My next planned novel, Hank Flynn, will be entirely dedicated to him. He was supposed to help me with some of the more complex knowledge that old Hank possess but I’ll figure it out as I go. He knows I will.
My last thought of the night is this, please continue to show your support by sharing my posts, buying “Breach“ if you have not done so and by leaving a review on Amazon. Reviews are super important to any new author, more precious than gold actually, and there is no better way to show your appreciation for a story well told.
If you would like to be a beta reader for the sequel to “Breach”, please let me know by sending me a message through chat. You will get early access to the sequel and will help proofread, suggest editing and give feedback. As a thank you for that, you will get a free, signed paperback when released.
That’s all for tonight, my faithful friends and family. Time for a cold drink and a dip in the pool. Stay dark, stay uncomfortable, stay tuned.
