Today's breakdown is for "Bunker Dogs" by Gage Greenwood:
This is one of those books that you know is going to be a hell of a ride. As the insanity ensues, prepare for an apocalyptic tale that covers a few different tropes in refreshing ways. I really liked the way it concluded and found a lot of the writing and concepts conveyed very well written.
I also learned of the term, "cacospectamania," which I had never heard of prior, so read this one if you need educated as to what that means, Google search is boring, read this!
I felt very angered and saddened as a father to read this passage and think about our society:
"She also thought about the day-to-day jam-ups, the exhaustive hours, the constant worry someone would bring a gun to school, or someone would attack her on her way back to the dorms late at night. She remembered her distrust of every random stranger who walked by and all the anxiety she lived with day in and day out, and it eased her sorrow for the world lost."
Great book.
5/5 stars.
