BOOK OF THE WEEK!
YOUNG BLOOD
By Sylvester Barzey
Synopsis from Author's Site:
New York is a desolate wasteland overrun with vampires. To survive, a sixteen-year-old girl must do the unthinkable.
Raven has carved out a precarious existence as a trader, navigating the treacherous underworld to secure supplies for herself and her autistic sister, Star. Their only sanctuary? A room in the local gun shop is provided by a kind-hearted owner who will risk everything to protect them.
They’re safe –
Until vampires swarm their doorstep and devour the only person willing to protect them.
Desperate to keep her sister safe, Raven joins a covert military unit dedicated to eradicating the vampires that terrorize the city. Her life will be brutal – early morning workouts, grueling weapons training, and a deadly showdown with the bloodthirsty vampire who rules from the city’s shadows.
But even her new military family is far from safe.
Whispers of a traitor spread and their knife might be angled at Raven’s back.
Young Blood is the first book in the new Young Blood series by Sylvester Barzey.

KICKSTARTER FOR 'THEY SWALLOWED THE SUN!'
Project description from the Kickstarter Page:
They Swallowed the Sun is a Black speculative fiction anthology set in a multiverse where suns fade, light is scarce, and societies sit on the edge of collapse. In these stories, survival isn’t promised. Every author wrestle with the same question: do we save the sun, word, life … or let it end for good?
This anthology is us snatching back our narrative. Inside these pages you’ll find fantasy, horror, sci-fi, dark romance, Blackfuturism, Afropunk, and stories that don’t fit neatly into any box. There is rage. Joy. Magic. Grief. Resistance. Rest. And the greatest of all, love. Each character grapples with their existence in broken worlds while daring to hope for greater galaxies and better futures.

HORRIFIC SCRIBBLINGS
Looking for more extreme horror happenings?
Check out the new website HORRIFIC SCRIBBLINGS! Full of their latest books, news, updates, interviews and more!
Description of their work and site, is as follows:
Horrific Scribes is an expanding online archive of dark short fiction (and some poetry) by authors who share the Horrific Scribblings imprint’s dedication to the provocative, scary, and strange. It collects dark, transgressive fiction, mostly horror (all subgenres, bloodless to extreme, nothing off limits) and “horror-adjacent” work in areas such as dark fantasy, dark sci-fi, the surreal, and the experimental.
Works in the archive are intended for mature readers and often contain graphic violence, explicit sexuality, profanity, and other material that some readers may find triggering or offensive. By continuing, you acknowledge that you read at your own risk.
