Michelle Jabes Corpora’s YA novel, Holly Horror (book one) urges, “Playmate, come out and play with me…” After a divorce, a woman moves her family to a family home in Massachusetts. The Hobbie House is known by locals as “The Horror House” because of a mysterious disappearance and reported hauntings.
The psychically sensitive high school teen girl finds a diary of the previous resident, Holly Hobbie. (I kept picturing the dolly from the 1970’s since she wore prairie clothes and a bonnet like the skeleton on the stunning cover of this book.) In this, friendships are forged, mysteries solved, and a family reunited. This would make a cute CW film.
