Besu Tadesse is back with another horror game review! This week, he brings us his thoughts on Indigo Park, a new game from UniqueGeese!

Indigo Park: Chapter 1

Released in May 2024, Indigo Park is an emerging mascot horror game developed and published by UniqueGeese. You play as an unnamed, silent protagonist that has broken into the aforementioned Indigo Park amusement attraction, where an AI version of the mascot Rambley Raccoon takes you on a brief journey into its depths.

As with other modern mascot horror games, you jump, crouch, and run through various set pieces themed around different animal characters while learning about some hidden secrets. This first chapter acts more like a prologue, helping with mechanics and teaching the player about some of the story lore. Not much is revealed outside of the story of the park itself, and there is no documentation that explains much else.

There are, however, some mysterious moments–specifically around chases with some of the mascots and a shadowy figure that follows you around some of the facility. There are also some neat collectibles that give you information on Rambley’s relationship with the other characters. There is still some required work to explain the how and why of certain things, such as digital assets appearing in the real world or how the mascots came to be possessed and evil.

Overall, I think it’s a good foundation for a new mascot horror franchise that can shake up the established order.
