Besu Tadesse is back with another horror game review! This week, he brings us his thoughts on Endacopia (Demo version).

ENDACOPIA (DEMO)

reviewed by Besu Tadesse

Released online in October 2022 and published on Steam on July 2026, Endacopia is a third-person point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Andlyand. You play as Mellow, a small child-like humanoid that goes on an adventure filled with crazy characters and underlying horrors. Rather than the full game, I decided to try the free demo and see what it was about.

Game mechanics are reminiscent of other P-and-C games from the 1990s and early 2000s, such as King’s Quest. You interact with different objects on the screen to collect key items and solve puzzles. Some are more straightforward (such as luring a house pest out with cheese to retrieve an item from a wall) to spinning a chair to unlock a large door in the house. You can interact with nearly everything in the display, though much of it is for a fun environmental gag. Animations are smooth and each of the characters I had encountered have distinct and fun personalities.

This game is completely unhinged from the very beginning. In just the demo, I had to spin an office chair to find a hole in a wall and avoid a giant monster-looking character to retrieve cheese, lure out a cockroach to find and feed coins into a face in the wall, use the computer to manifest a door to exit, and challenge a wall clock to a physical duel in order to join my next adventure. I couldn’t understand where all these fever-dream characters appeared from, exactly like the games of old that experimented with the limits of logic, both story structure, and good taste. The demo doesn’t give much in terms of why you need to go on the adventure, only that an adventure must be had, and the horror elements are implied at every turn.

The full version of Endacopia is available on PC via Steam. I plan on coming back to review the full version once I complete it, so if you want to support a pretty quirky throwback game, give it a try. Enjoy!
