"this is the most f**ked up book ever written"

by Harrison Phillips

Harrison Phillips is hands down one of my top three authors in the extreme horror / splatterpunk realm. His books never disappoint and always take you to the brink of insanity. This book is no different.

"this is the most fucked up book ever written" is the sequel to his book Triggered, and no, you don't need to read it first BUT I highly recommend you do because not only is it a book as I see as a staple in the genre, it just genuinely enhances the reading experience for the second one.

In the first book you meet a splatterpunk writer who keeps being told that he need to write what he knows... so he goes above and beyond to do just that... for better or worse.

In this new book, we meet a student who is an avid reader of splatterpunk books and despite all the people who judge him for it, and the teachers who raise red flags, he meets someone who is on the same wave length as him and they do some of the most unimaginable shit ever.

The title "this is the most fucked up book ever written" couldn't be more perfect, because honestly... it is. It is one of the most fucked up books I have ever read. I threw my kindle across the room more than once, had to take more than one breaks, and almost two weeks later... this book is still living rent free in my head.

If you have a hard no triggers, don't even bother reading this book. I can promise you that it will be taken on and beat to hell and back and you will not be okay after, lol. If you're someone looking to test your limits or don't have any? I implore you to read this book asap. Phillips is truly a master at his craft and this book is one of many examples of that. It will easily hit my top reads of 2026 and will probably hit my top reads EVER.

I am not much of a star ranker, but this was the easiest five stars ever to give to a novella. Truly.

It releases on Friday 11/13 but can be preordered using the link below!

SYNOPSIS:

WARNING: This book contains scenes of explicit violence and gore.

Every adolescent needs a home in which they feel safe and loved. They need parents who support and care for them. They need friends who make them feel valued. They need teachers to nurture their growing autonomy.

Eugene has none of these things.

All he has is his books.

And the new girl.

And a tentative grasp of the difference between reality and fiction, one which threatens to slip further and send him tumbling into a cavernous pit of madness...
