A Woman Like Jo starts with a dead woman, as it so often does. The dead woman leads us through the introduction and serves as the perfect primer for what's in store - a collection of stories soaked in feminine fury, sharp wit, and some bizarre shit.

Here's the thing about A Woman Like Jo, it's a collection of stories about women, yes - but it's not just about women enduring horror. These women also inflect it. They yell, fight, take control, and are willing to burn the whole goddamn house to the ground. And every single story is. so. damn. satisfying. From vengeful to satirical to downright horrifying, each story will have you screaming at the page with the profound relief of finally - finally - being seen.

Kenzie Jennings writes like she's got something to prove— and she does. Every story reflects a conversation about women that feels current, raw, and unflinching. While the themes and subjects change, the violence doesn't. Sometimes, it's emotional, sometimes literal. Sometimes, it feels like revenge; other times, it feels like a warning. Sometimes, it's sharp and bitter, weighing you down with a self-reflection that's still too painful to touch. And even though it's sometimes funny, you'll still feel battered and broken - but at least you'll also feel a deep catharsis.

Do yourself a favor and go in blind. Let it twist. Let it hit. Let it hurt. And when you're done, ask yourself: What will you pick? The man of the bear?
