Indentured

By: David-Jack Fletcher

“The teeth had clenched his jaw shut and ordered him down the street. A puppet master intent on destruction.”

I really cannot wait for this book to go live because I NEED to talk about it. I need other people to talk about it, and I cannot wait to see how many people loved this book as much as I did.

This novel went HARD in every way possible. I feel like I could write a 10-page review because there is SO much to unpack and SO many elements and tropes, etc. that were touched upon.

First, I really loved the back-and-forth chapters between the father and the son. Their relationship is complicated… to say the least. The LGBTQ+ representation is throughout the plot and characters which was also great to see. I’m a sucker for books revolving around cannibalism and this was both top tier and unique as hell. Then add some psychological horror, an unhinged pair of dentures, some family drama and you’ve got yourself a brilliant storyline that was told perfectly. I truly have zero critiques on this story or how any of it was done / played out. This is one of those books that will live rent free in my head forever and I’ll probably be annoying with how much I recommend it.

There were times I cringed, a couple gags, and almost a tear or two. It was a full range of emotions. I cannot praise this story and the author enough. This will be the first time I’ve made a claim that I’m giving a book way more than five stars, and I’m excited for it to be this one.

The book releases on June 23rd but is available for preorder now!

The Heads of Staff: A Corporate Horror Story

By: Ben Arzate

“It’s a very private and exclusive club. You can reveal almost nothing about it. Even to your family and friends. You’ll be required to sign an NDA before I present you with the formal invitation.”

Another day and another awesome Godless find. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! There were a few times I thought it was going to go one way… then boom. At about 30 pages this is the perfect story to binge in one sitting. I’m finding that I’m really enjoying workplace horror, and this one adds the elements of secret societies and rituals, along with a bit of a psych thriller side. This is definitely one I would recommend to all horror readers. And this is an author I will definitely be binge reading!

ETERNAL FLOWER OF YOUR SOUL

By: Klaus Kinion

“If disorder is the presence of things, then what is the purest form of order and organization? It is the absence of things; nothingness!”

Oh. My. Goodness. I think I read over half of this story with my jaw dropped and one hand covering my eyes. This story goes hard with the body horror. REALLY HARD.

So, hear me out, you buy a DVD from a famous/professional home organizer and transcendent minimalist lifestyle coach. You pop the bad boy in thinking you’re going to declutter your life. Then… well… hell breaks loose on screen… to say the least.

Klaus Kinion curated an absolutely amazing story that I binge read faster than most. The way the book is set up is really unique. It almost takes on a semi second person POV alongside commentary of what’s going on. It’s hard to explain without ruining the entire plot, but trust me, it’s awesome. I truly had no idea where this book was going to go then BAM, the reader is smacked with a WTF moment. (In the best way possible.)

I think this is an author people need to look out for. If 30 pages invoked the feelings it did in me, then I can only imagine what they’ll offer next.

It’s clear to me now why this is number 1 on the Godless charts. I highly recommend delving into this one and definitely keeping an eye on this author and their next release.
