Saturday Special Report

Just a few notes and updates from the week here!

Live zoom call on 2/15- Christina chatted with Candace, Mike Ennenbach, and Patrick Tumblety about upcoming releases, AuthorCon 3 preparations, the 2024 release schedule and Christina announced her new poetry imprint, Blood Moon, under Uncomfortably Dark Horror.  This imprint will be re-releasing the poetry collections by M. Ennenbach and Ronald J. Murray’s new collection, along with signing new poets throughout the year.  Tune in for the Live Zoom Call next month for a special author signing announcement.

2024 Splatterpunk nominations were also announced and discussed with patron attendees. Candace was nominated for two awards for best Novella and Best Anthology. The awards will happen later this year at KillerCon in Austin, TX.

Huge congrats to all of the nominees, just being considered is an incredible honor in itself.

Cremated Remains is the second release of 2024 for Uncomfortably Dark and is the second collection of short stories by M. Ennenbach through Uncomfortably Dark. His first collection, dreamwhispers, was released in 2022.

Episodes of Violence by David Bernstein will be released next month and is available on NetGalley for ARC requests. So far, it has been requested more than 40 times and is currently in the hands of our own review team and the newly created UD ARC team. We are very excited for the response this novel is already getting.

Both of these titles will be available at AuthorCon 3 as signed editions via in person or via bookplate.

The new merch store is up and running on TeePublic. Links have been added to the home page on the website and on Candace’s website as well. Be sure to check it out for logo merch, t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, travel cups and more.

Candace also finally had bookplates made for her new logo, Kindness in the Dark, and those will be in stock on the website by Sunday as well as offered up on social media.  Several of our overseas readers have been requesting them for their books. Bookplates are being made for Cuckoo as well and will be created for each author moving forward.

The Earth Bleeds at Night is an anthology Kickstarter created by Eerie River Publishing. This anthology will be a collection of stories that will drip with dread and exploit the theme of "The Earth Bleeds At Night". These stories will take you on a journey through slasher, body, ecological, psychological horror and more, as our esteemed authors interpret the theme as they see fit.
