Synopsis: When Jamie’s mother dies, she is forced to clean and get rid of household goods. But one in particular is going to be a bit to deal with.
Favorite line: “I’m cancelling my meetings.”
Thoughts: There is a scene that just broke my heart. It was the bamboozle of the festival for me. HEIRLOOMS is creepy, relatable, and deeply unsettling. I loved every second of it.
Actor to watch for: Jaime - Chloe Van Land Schoot
Title: CHAIR
Directed by: Chris McInroy
Country: US Run Time: 6 mins
Synopsis: If you think IKEA is bad, you have no idea until after you watch this one.
Favorite line: “Burn the chair… Carl.”
Thoughts: I am the builder of my family and I fucking hate every second of it. Do you know how many ding dang book/movie shelving units we have?! But with this short, I feel seen - mentally, spiritually, and physically. What the chair does to him, I have hoped some of the same for myself at times. Also, the survey calls! McInroy just gets it.

Title: BALL PIT

Synopsis: Parents want the best for their children including the perfect childhood. But also, parents have a looooot of trauma to deal with.
Favorite line: “Just piss yourself, bitch.”
Thoughts: While it’s a horror comedy, it is also extremely relatable. As a parent, I want my kids to have it all - birthdays, Christmas, etc. Though. I also have baggage. BALL PIT kinda baggage? No. But… who does besides Brian?
Actor to watch for: Brian - Isaac Garza
Title: PIMPLE
Directed by: Fernando Alle
Country: Portugal Run Time: 4 mins
Synopsis: Growing up isn’t easy, especially when puberty hits.
Favorite line: “Ah, fuck.”
Thoughts: Grooooosssssss. That’s about the best word I can use. But, don’t let that deter you. The acting from such young actors is amazing, the special effects are top notch, and it’s clever while being brutal. Loved it even if I was cringing.
Actor to watch for: Miudo - Tiago Rodrigues

Directed by: Vincent Vinas
Country: US Run Time: 3 mins
Synopsis: Sneezing is a pet peeve of mine, I would never survive what Brian has to deal with.
Favorite line: “It’s all in your head. Give it another try.”
Thoughts: BRILLIANT and fun. Think A SCANNER DARKLY but make it funny and silly. Between Brian’s friend and his visitor later on, there’s a lot happening in the three minutes Vinas gives us to view. It’s stellar and Vinas always gives watchers more than we bargained for.
