Synopsis: Moral of this film - just don’t do dishes. It invites evil into your life.
Favorite line: N/A (no dialogue)
Thoughts: The lack of backstory and context adds SO much to the three minutes. It feels longer and that it will never end but in a creepy, scary, spooky kinda way. Very minimalistic, no dialogue, and the suspense between the two characters… killer. Also, it seems she has a running series on YouTube. How do I know? I kept watching more and more.

Title: HOW TO BECOME A CHAMELEON
Directed by: Tyler Kincaid
Country: US Run Time: 12 mins
Synopsis: After watching this, you will keep your fears to yourself.
Favorite line: “Why aren’t other people afraid like me?”
Thoughts: Kincaid knocked it out of the festival with this short. The commentary on the information we give strangers to the way we treat each other, so well done. The mirror scene with the first guy… shivers. From my notes: “This was way too fucking unsettling.”

Title: WE’RE NOT THEM

Synopsis: Think the world is too PC right now? Well, don’t get stuck in this shack- I mean structure with these people.
Favorite line: “I cannot say that I am entirely comfortable with the racial overtones and the way you said the word ‘spears’, but I must admit, it doesn’t look good.”
“I’d hate to be that guy.” “Op - person.”
“Moron is an ableist term.”
Thoughts: Absolutely. Literal. Perfection. The casting is almost a dream cast of mine and the way they play off of each other, holy Toledo. If you aren’t cringing from the all too common PC nonsense, you will be laughing hysterically. One of my favorites from the festival.
Actor to watch for: Nayra - Fayna Sanchez and Teach - Michael Paul King
Title: HURRY
Directed by: Ruwan Heggelman
Country: Netherlands Run Time: 9 mins
Synopsis: Nira believes that Nuko is going to be her protector but the true hero is much smaller.
Favorite line: “I don’t remember anything after I turned on the shower.”
Thoughts: Creeeeepy. Between the jump scares, makeup, and that ding dang candle? Makes me want to get rid of all the candles I own because now I can’t trust them. Superbly done in every way. Enjoy the nightmares it causes.
