Today's breakdown is for the audiobook of "Dark Disasters" by Uncomfortably Dark Horror:
Brennan Lafaro brought forth a tale about a secret society whose past comes to settle some unfinished business. I had never heard of this author, but he set the tone perfectly and made me excited for what would come next.
Judith Sonnet swept me away with devastation as hungry mudslides work to eat their victims. The part about the father being helpless while his kids clung to him for hope made my insides sink.
Michael J. Moore then teaches us to trust nobody except for thy inner self. A very frightening piece indeed.
Lucas Mangum let us envision his version of a kidnapping gone right, all while proving nothing is more deadly than a mother's fury.
Caitlin Marceau delivered a brutal and heartbreaking story regarding the fires of life. I couldn't help but chuckle at the ending.
Tim Meyer led us through a wintery nightmare that any fan of Five Nights At Freddy's should have a bloody fun time with.
Andre Duza invites us along to an initiation whose guests aren't quite on the same page with the intended outcome their host have planned.
Bridgett Nelson brought a parasitic snowfall that turns its hosts vampyric as they mock the celebration of freedom.Â
Tony Evans unleashed a thunderstorm that harbors something truly sinister.Â
Kate Kingston fought fire with fire as revenge burns hot in the traumatized soul of the main character as the world around her melts.
Rebecca Rowland served up some due justice upon the wolves of society.
Kristopher Rufty finished up this collection on a dark note as the high winds of a hurricane brings along with it a handful of unnatural devastation.
I loved all the anthologies put out by UDH, but this one is probably my favorite. You really are only doing yourself a favor by cracking it open. I suggest doing so during unstable weather conditions...
Jamison Walker performed the narration duties once again and he always makes the stories a dynamic experience.
5/5 stars.
