Today's breakdown is for "Legion" by William Peter Blatty:

A book in my top favorite fictional tales ever created, the whacky Detective Kinderman returns for more amusement and irritation for the reader as a horrific story unfolds about murders via possession. Again, we see strong themes about coming to terms with belief and faith like the previous two books and it seems to come full circle with this one. We learn some thought provoking theories about the spirit world and the afterlife, one of the most compelling may be Kinderman's theory about who Lucifer really is and how. I feel like the ending of this book makes sense of what was going on with Regan in the first one. The filmed version omits the character of Amfortas and I find his segments very interesting to read about and full of mysterious wonder. An absolute masterpiece and excellent sequel to the original. I cannot recommend the books enough times.

5/5 stars.
