Welcome to Latham's Last Words, where I give you my last words on books I've enjoyed. This week's review is being released on November 7th. And will definitely be in my list of top reads for the year.
This. Book. Is. So. Good!
Norse folk horror combined with mental illness horror. A man who's lost his pet and is battling almost crippling OCD. The God Fenrir and a cult wanting to bring about Ragnarok. This book will not fail to entertain you and touch your heart.
I was not prepared for the range of emotions I felt while reading. Michael is one of the most heartbreaking characters I have ever read. Several times I could feel his despair leaking off the pages.. The author did so much more than just creating a character when he wrote Michael, he created someone real. Someone who made me want to jump into the story and help him in his search for Zylo's murderer.
I found myself being proud of Michael when he went on the trip by himself. Overcoming his mental illness to get answers was not easy and you could feel the toll it was taking on him.
This is most certainly a slow burn. You won't get "action". But you will get one heck of story that will wrap you in it's pages and hold you tight. I can confidently say that I'm not the same person I was before reading this book.
Why have I not been reading this author until now??
Releases on Nov 7th! Don't miss out!
