Welcome to Latham's Last Words, where I give you my last words on books I've enjoyed. Matthew Cash is one of my favorite authors. He writes in so many subgenres of horror.

This Autonomous God

Now this is religious horror. I dare say some would consider this book blasphemy. But that's ok. Horror is meant to make the reader uncomfortable.

The story will make you think and some parts will make you squirm with it's grotesqueness. It's not overly extreme, but there are some parts that were very disturbing.

The author did a great job representing not only different cultures, but different ages, genders, a neurodiverse main character and a main character that is a recovering alcoholic. I love how all the differences were handled.

My favorite part of this book were the familiar names. Some real people's names were used that I know and that made me enjoy the book that much more.

Cash is a very underrated author, his unique storylines always deliver. You'll never not be entertained by his writing.
