Wow. This story was wild. The internet gone rogue. (What else is new, lol). Super fast paced, engulfed from the first page, and binge read it in one sitting.

I don’t want to give away too many spoilers… but remember the death date game from like… the 90’s and early 00’s?! Okay, well it came back. With a vengeance. Will they be able to disable the website in time?!

Find out and run to Godless and grab this one. I think will be a love for every horror reader.

Peril Beneath the Surface

By: John Lynch

“Black tendrils shot out, grabbing the chunks of meat and pulling them into its body even as smaller bits of the ooze detached itself, sliding across the floor, walls, and ceiling in a sluglike movement, sucking up the remnants of the man’s body.”

To start, I’m a sucker for any book that has a setting in Rhode Island. So right from the beginning, I was sold. That being said, John Lynch has officially published my favorite book from him to date.

This book reminded me of a late 90’s / early 00’s teen horror movie. In the best freaking way possible. (Think “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” but make it 2025). Senior year, about to graduate, summer at the lake house / cabin. Then a prank goes wrong, and all hell breaks loose.

There’s so many elements to this story and I’m living for them all. Some books you read and can see them being turned into a movie. I rarely make this claim… but this is definitely one of those times.

I would recommend this one to all horror readers. Like I said before, there’s so many different elements and they all come together brilliantly.

Easy five stars, without a doubt.

It’s available on Amazon and it’s on KU! Add it to your summer TBR, it’s perfect for that.

Cannibal Fat Camp: The Pampered Camper Edition

By: Mark C. Scioneaux and David C. Hayes

“Welcome to Camp Tum Tum, a temptation deprivation and isolation oasis for overweight teens.”

Ahhh. I cannot scream about how much I loved this book loud enough. It was perfection from beginning to end. I figured with the cover and title, it was going to be pretty damn unhinged. And it was. But it was so much more than that too.

It has such an amazing plot. Seriously, it’s genius. Think the movie Heavyweights meets Lord of the Flies. I know, sounds crazy, it is… in the best ways possible!! With this Pampered Camper version you get Cannibal Fat Camp AND eight other short stories by the authors. And they’re all fantastic as well.

This book will probably make my top five reads of 2025 list. Just another reason to love Godless. I found a top read and new authors to binge.

Highest of recommendations goes to this one. It’s almost summer and camp is about to begin, so definitely go grab it asap!
