Jan. 2-Uncomfortably Dark News

Happy New Year to all. I hope the holiday season was wonderful to you and yours.

Review Team Changes:

As we get back to normal, Uncomfortably Dark is moving toward the end of our break time and there will be some changes coming to how we do the reviews to allow the website to transition more into a small press website.

Essentially, each reviewer will now have their own blog site on an assigned day. Christina Pfeiffer will add her reviews to the Sunday blog and still include a section on "Releases You May Have Missed". The other team members will each have a day to post their reviews and those will be automatically sent out to all subscribers and will be shared to all social media.

The review pages on the website will transition to author pages to showcase our authors, Submission information and guidelines, and New and Upcoming release information.  All other pages on the site will remain hosts to indie horror author interviews, spotlights, cover reveals and directories as we fully intend to continue to showcase and support the indie community, not just our authors. Expect the team reviews to resume as of Sunday, Jan. 14 with the new format using the daily blog.

Patreon News:

The Uncomfortably Dark Patreon is well underway with daily content from all our authors, exclusive merch items, sneak peeks, free books and more. The top two tiers are essentially a subscription to all Uncomfortably Dark Titles.

The $15 Tier gives all patrons every eBook as it is released plus that year’s hardcover anthology.

The $20 Tier gives those members every physical book, signed whenever possible, along with that year’s hardcover anthology, free swag, merch, and more!

Tiers start at $3 a month and grants access to all posts, quarterly eBooks and audiobooks for lower tiers, and live monthly Zoom calls with the authors.

Submission Queries:

We are NOT open to submissions requests for any manuscript at this time. This is our first year as a small press and we currently have a full slate of releases for 2024.  We do plan to open for a short submission period in December of 2024. Please check back later for those details.

Any request or submission sent prior to this submission period will be ignored.  Thank you for your patience and understanding while we build our press this year.

Editing Services:

360 Editing is now open for scheduling for February through April. Please inquire by email about our rates and timeframes. ½ deposit is due within seven days of scheduling to hold your slot.

*Other payment arrangements are available, please check with Candace for details.

Can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for the indie horror community!
