Welcome to Latham's Last Words, where I give you my last words on books I've enjoyed. The next two weeks I'll be posting my reviews of the Ludo Carstairs Series by F.R. Jameson. Supernatural thrillers with an X-Files feel.

The Nemesis Touch Book 1

I had such a great time reading this book and I had a very hard time putting it down. It's kind of a cross between XFiles and Supernatural. Fast paced with amazingly developed characters. I actually even liked the villain of the story. I want this series to go on forever!

The Mirror Demon Book 2

Excellent continuation of the Ludo Carstairs series! The characters are such fun and the mirror world that the author built was fascinating. Reading this book was like visiting wonderland, but a wonderland with Russian soldiers, attack bears and a girl who can kill with her touch. I don't think I'd ever be disappointed in a book about Garris and Carstairs.

The Ghost Machine Book 3

Sometimes a series will lose momentum, but not this series! This book was just as fantastic as the first two. I did find this one to be darker than the others which is not a bad thing at all.

I loved how Garris was more of a prominent character. Ludo Carstairs is my favorite, but it was great to get more of a feel for Garris.

Another great thing about this series is you don't necessarily need to read the books in order. Each book is independent of the others with small references to events in previous books.

So far I'm going to call this one my favorite. Very excited to know that there are two more coming!

The Crimson Snake Book 4

I am 100% invested in the characters of Michael Garris and Ludo Carstairs. Reading their adventures is like listening to a story from an old friend. The first few chapters had me almost in tears. The rest of the book was one curiosity after another and I couldn't put it down. An interestingly unique plot and the addition of Minako Cohen gave me a reading experience I'll not soon forget. This series is everything and I can't wait for the next book!
