This week's book wound up being very different than I expected it to be, but still enjoyable. It may say it's a Halloween story, but that doesn't play into the plot enough to say it's a Halloween read, so don't worry if you decide to read it in February! :)

1. Holy crap, Steve is unlucky. Like next-level unlucky. If you can imagine something bad happening, it happens to him. Will his luck change when he meets mysterious Becca, or will it get impossibly worse?
2. I enjoyed this book, but I feel like the name is sort of a misnomer in the sense that the storyline of the Midnight Killer is ancillary, not in the forefront. There’s actually very little to do with the serial killer so I found it odd that the book is named for him. Either way, my attention was hooked and I wanted to keep reading to find out what the heck was going to happen next.
3. We should all know by now not to post things on social media about being on vacation while you’re not home. This book had me all kinds of weirded out about it though. Did you ever come home after a vacation and feel like something may have been moved around? Or it smells like someone showered in the last 24 hours, but that couldn’t be, because you’ve been gone, right? RIGHT??!!!
4. I wouldn’t categorize this as a ‘serial killer story’ but it did leave me with a sense of unease.
