This week's book is so good, and the first of what should be a trilogy. The next 2 books aren't out yet, so if you're impatient maybe hold off on reading this one until at least the second book is released (November). Man, I hate the wait for the next book in a series!
IMMORTAL DARK by Tigest Girma
1. I’m not typically a fan of vampire novels, but this was an exception. Perhaps because it’s also mixed with dark academia, which I’m a sucker for. Oh, it also includes a healthy dose of revenge.
2. I was looking for a good audiobook to listen to while running to keep my mind off the fact that running sucks, and this book filled that need and then some. The audiobook was excellent – amazing narration of an awesome story. I seriously loved the voice acting so much – it brought the plot to life and didn’t just feel like I was being read to, it actually felt immersive.
3. When the book began, I did not care for the FMC, Kidan. She seemed whiny and annoying but that remedied itself quickly and I found myself liking her quite a bit by the end of the book; especially for the expert ways (yes, plural) she puts Susenyos in his place. Even if that action puts her in peril’s way. There’s just something I love about a reckless character with nothing to lose, just the absurdity of their decisions and complete lack of care for their well-being…it’s nothing my incredibly careful and risk-averse self could ever get on board with, but damn I love reading it!
4. I will absolutely be continuing this series, November cannot come soon enough 😊
Definitely recommend, and cannot say enough about how great the audiobook is!
